Some of our members offer tuition and instruction in woodturning.
If you are interested in an introductory lesson or an advanced woodturning course please see the list of tutors below, or use the map to find a tutor near you.
The Register regards the proper and safe teaching of the craft as an important activity. Click on this link to see the Code of Practice covering the teaching of novices, which suggests how a student might reasonably expect to be treated in a course of instruction
It must be pointed out that Members are not assessed by the Register with regard to their teaching abilities, so that neither the Register, nor the Worshipful Company of Turners, can give an assurance that every course offered would be satisfactory for every student, for whatever reason. A small but increasing number of the tutors hold City & Guilds teaching qualifications.
In order to ensure that standards are maintained, the Register has prepared a questionnaire to be given to students at the completion of a course, so that they may comment, in confidence, on any matter to do with their instruction that they regard as important. Download the course feedback form.
